The End of the Civic Type-R

Now as we reported on the rumored demise of the Civic Type-R hatch, Honda has announced it will phase out the Civic Type-R sedan making 220bhp within the next week and a half as it begins to wind down production of the 4-door sedan model. Honda blamed the 4-door Type R’s demise on a slow and sluggish market. While production of the 3-door Type-R hatch is still going strong, one wonders exactly what this means to the rest of the Type-R lineup.
